2026 Session Wrap Up

To friends and clients,

Thank you for the trust you continue to place in The Trianon Group. We are grateful to represent your interests and to navigate another complex legislative session alongside you.

This year’s session concluded without a finalized state budget. As a result, the Legislature is expected to reconvene for multiple special sessions this summer. As those dates are set, we will keep you informed in real time and continue to update this document to reflect key developments.

In parallel, focus is already shifting toward the political landscape ahead. Special elections begin this month across Florida, and attention will quickly turn to the November election. These dynamics will shape policy priorities, leadership decisions, and opportunities for engagement in the months ahead.

From a legislative standpoint, this session was marked by notable gridlock. Fewer bills were advanced through the process and ultimately sent to the Governor compared to recent years, reflecting both policy disagreements and procedural slowdowns.

This wrap-up highlights the issues we tracked most closely—not just those affecting our clients, but the broader debates shaping Florida’s future. Even bills that stall or fail this session often lay the groundwork for what comes next.

This year underscored just how unpredictable the process can be. As the Legislature reached its scheduled conclusion without a finalized budget, key issues remained unresolved—only to be pushed into what will now be a series of special sessions. That uncertainty is exactly why we remain engaged through every phase of the process, from session through vetoes and beyond.

We will continue to monitor developments closely and remain proactive in positioning you for success in both the policy and political arenas. Thank you again for your partnership.

Warmly,

Tara Reid-Cherry
