Tara Reid-Cherry
President
Tara Reid-Cherry is the President of The Trianon Group, a public affairs consulting firm committed to delivering results through preparation, strategic insight, and relentless advocacy.
Her work spans a wide range of public policy issues, including education, technology, transportation, and healthcare. Tara’s deep knowledge of Florida’s appropriations process has led to her successfully securing millions in funding for clients. Her command of both the substance and politics of policy and appropriations has made her an indispensable partner to organizations seeking meaningful, lasting impact. Tara’s strength lies not only in her understanding of policy and process but also in the enduring relationships she cultivates.
Prior to founding the Trianon Group, Tara was a partner at a national education consultancy. There she led the firm’s government affairs practice, focusing primarily on Florida while also supporting client advocacy efforts in other states by hiring and overseeing multi-state lobbying teams, serving as the central strategist and point of coordination for clients.
She began her career in politics at the Republican Party of Florida before going on to play key roles in two successful gubernatorial campaigns: the 2014 election of Governor Rick Scott and the 2018 election of Governor Ron DeSantis. Following the latter, she was appointed Director of Public Liaison and Outreach for the DeSantis-Nuñez Inauguration.
A proud member of Leadership Florida (Connect Class 11), Tara also serves on the board of the National Coalition for Infant Health and frequently mentors soon-to-be college graduates interested in careers in public affairs and government. A Florida native and graduate of Florida State University, Tara lives in Tallahassee with her husband, Blaine.
